Christmas Packages

Today I sent 260 packages to Chase and other fellow soldiers. It is a great feeling to see this project come to an end. I can't wait to see the reaction of the soldiers.

This is my very first blog. I have lots to tell. I have taken on a project, Operation Iraqi Star - Christmas for the Troops. My son, Chase, deployed to Iraq on November 17, 2008. It will be our first Christmas away from Chase and Chase's first Christmas so far away from his family. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for him and all his other fellow soldiers. I decided I wanted to bring a little bit of home to these soldiers by sending Christmas packages to as many soldiers as I could. It started out being a Team INL project and would just be a small endevour. My original goal was to send 60 packages. We decided to take it to the public and the project exploded. I had drop locations all over town and various locations around the INL.

I can't believe the generosity of the community....WOW!!! Betweeen all the monitary donations and the items donated we were able to box over 250 boxes. Tomorrow we will mail all these boxes. I will be shipping to three different soldiers. When they receive them they will play Santa and distribute these packages among their fellow soldiers. It's been an amazing project.
